Next Nite

Joe came into work a little early to catch his boss, before he left to go home. He went into his boss's office, he told him what he saw the night before, and let him know the young fella from the area saw at least some of it as well. Joe also mentioned there weren't any recordings of this as well. Then Joe said he was going to contact his friend, so the two of them could look for the professor. His boss said ok, he also felt good, that Joe would be with someone that was familiar with the woods. Joe said good bye to his boss, and started to his post. Then he stopped for a second, and asked how the birthday party was. His boss said it was very nice, and Joe smiled. Then Joe went to his post to start his shift. Some time went by everything was good on the monitors, and Joe got up a few times to look out the door, especially since what he saw out the door before didn't show up on the recordings. Joe didn't see anything, but he kept looking. Also it was raining, and that is when Joe saw, what he saw! He figured he would keep checking anyway! He figured at this point who knows what he may, or may not see! His boss was finished with his work, and on his way out he said good bye to Joe. A couple of moments passed, and Joe heard his boss, out by the front door, Joe! Joe come see this! Joe sprang from his post, and went running to the front door! His boss pointed look at that old car! Joe looked, and said, "That is really nice, but I thought maybe you saw something else!" I also thought you might be harmed in someway. His boss said, "I see, no, I'm fine, Joe not everything is UFOs, but I'm glad, you are keeping watch!" "I will see you later, I hope everything is smooth on your shift, you can use a break from all of this, have a good night." His boss then left. Joe returned back to his post. Joe checked the monitors, and he looked out the door as well. Everything was clear, on the monitors, and out the door as well. It was now time for Joe to do a walk through. He checked the monitors, then he went to the door, he paused a second, then he pushed it open, looked all around, and everything was fine. He then breathed a huge sigh of relief! He completed the walk through, and everything was fine. So, he returned to his post, and checked the monitors, they were clear. He sat for a minute, then he went to the rest room. When he came back out he looked at the monitors they were clear, he also checked the door, everything outside was clear as well. Joe sat down at his post, he thought to have a snack, he knew he had an apple, so he reached down to get the apple from his lunch box, and, he hears a very, very loud trumpet sound come from, right in front of him! He is shocked!, and he throws the apple, and then his legs stiffen, and push the office chair, with wheels, back, and against the wall! Joe is really startled! The chair hits the wall with great force! Then Joe leaps out of the chair towards the noise, there isn't anything around, that could have made the noise. He now runs towards the door, everything is clear outside. He then runs back to his post, and checks the monitors, they are clear as well! Joe picks up the apple, and wipes it off. He is sitting in the chair, back at his post, and takes a bite of the apple. He is watching the monitors, and looks at the door. He is on full alert now! He thinks to himself, I don't think I will need any coffee!, at least for awhile, he is calmer, and then he smiles to himself. He is wondering, what made that noise now? Joe is ready for another walk through, he checks the monitors, and then he heads towards the door, he immediately looks over his shoulder, and he yells got you! Nothing is there!, he turns back, and heads towards the door, he thinks to himself, it was worth a try. He opens the door, and he heads out the door, everything is clear outside. The moon is shining, the stars are bright, the walk through goes well, everything is clear. Joe gets back to his post, he sits down, the monitors are clear as well. Joe looks over by his boss's door, and he notices a sparkly neon orange, and green puddle, and some of it is splashed up on the door as well! Joe goes over, for a closer look. He thinks to himself, now what?! He then gets the mop, and bucket from the janitor's closet. He then mops up the mess. It cleans up ok. So then he puts the mop, and bucket back into the janitor's closet. He returns back to his post, he checks the monitors, they are clear, then he looks out the door, it is clear outside as well. He then returns back to his post, and checks the monitors again, they are still clear. Joe has his lunch. He goes on some more walk throughs, the monitors are clear the entire night, and the walk throughs are clear as well. Joe is ready to leave, his shift is complete, he grabs his lunch box, and beside it he sees an apple, he picks it up, he looks at it, and he is wondering why it was laying on the floor, it feels mushy as well, so he throws it away. He asks the next night watch person, they just say they didn't know anything about it, smiled, and said, "I have my own lunch." Joe says thank you for letting me know, and he goes home.

Next Nite

Joe was putting his things at his post, and he saw his boss in his boss's window, of his office, and Joe waved. His boss realized Joe didn't have any new information. Joe had plenty of time on his way in to stop, and get his thermos filled with hot, fresh coffee, a sandwich, chips, and a dessert. This time the dessert was an apple pie, with cinnamon swirl, and icing. Mary said it was one of her favorites! She had even hinted about the dance to Joe, he knew it was a very good sign. So he was excited. Joe sat down, start of his new shift. He checked the monitors everything was ok. Then he looked a little closer he did see something. Then he wiped the monitors a little, and now they were smeared, and dirty. So he went to the bathroom, and he retrieved some paper towel from the bathroom. He was able to wipe the monitors clean. He noticed a piece of paper to the side of the monitors it was folded up. So he unfolded the note. It read HA! HA!, if you're going to see UFOs, I figured I'd put one on your monitor!, Ralphie, also there was a big smiley face. Ralphie was on the shift before Joe. Joe thought to himself very funny. Joe knew there was proof so he wasn't worried, he also knew Ralphie was a good friend of his, and he was only messing around. Joe spotted his boss starting to leave, and he went to tell his boss, not to get Ralphie in trouble, but he knew his boss would find it amusing. His boss had worked the post for many years as well, and had his fair share of prankster co-workers as well. Before Joe could really say anything his boss said, "I have to run", then he showed Joe a gift box, and said, "I'm off to a birthday party." So Joe said, "ok." Then his boss left. Joe sat at his post, checked the monitors, everything was fine, especially since there wasn't any debris on them now, and he smiled, and said to himself, "UFO!" It was now time for Joe to go on his walk through. He wasn't too thrilled since it was just starting to rain on his way in. There had been a drought, so Joe knew the rain was needed, so that was good. He was still looking for more evidence though, and he figured the rain would hinder his visibility, and he was worried he would not get to see anything. He was opening the door, and he immediately noticed a very, very, fowl smell, and he just couldn't believe his eyes as he opened the door! Then, just then, he heard the phone ring at his post. When the phone rings, and he is away form his post, an answering machine receives the call, but after what he saw he closed the door, and ran for the phone. He wanted to tell someone about what he just saw. He reached the phone, and he picked it up, he was just about to tell what he saw, when the voice said, "Would you like to take part in our survey?" He thought, survey?!, do you know what I just saw out the door! Then he just said politely, "no thank you", and he hung up the phone. Then he ran back over to the door, and opened it. What he saw was still there, and he couldn't believe his eyes. It was a light rain, there were many separate puddles of glowing purple puddles, with golden rings emanating from each one, and there were also night time rainbows, that were many different neon colors, and one rainbow went from a purple puddle up, and then arched down to another purple puddle, and the night time rainbows were connecting each purple puddle together. The light rain was glowing in many different neon colors as well. Joe had noticed it was happening in a very large area. He realized he hadn't seen this till now, since there wasn't any rain for awhile. He went back to his post, after closing the door. He looked on the monitors he only saw the yard as it always was. He ran back to the door, and it had stopped raining. The ground was still wet, but everything else was back to normal. So he checked it on the recording, and that didn't show anything either. So he decided to only tell the professor about this, that was if he ever sees the professor again. Joe checked the monitors, everything was ok, then he did his walk through, and everything was fine. Joe was back at his post, and he looked on his monitors, everything was still fine. It was time for Joe to do another walk through. He checked the monitors, and he went on his walk through. He turned the corner, and out of the shadows, a figure appeared. It was a young guy from the area. He was a notorious trouble maker. Joe was surprised by him, but Joe didn't let it show since Joe is a professional. The guy was excited to tell Joe what he saw, and Joe realized he saw what Joe saw. Joe was happy to have another eyewitness. He told the guy not to tell anyone else though, especially since there wasn't a recording of what they both saw. So the guy said that was fine, he didn't think anyone would believe him anyway. The guy left, and Joe continued his walk through. Joe was just about done with his walk through, when he noticed shadows on the ground, so he immediately looked up, and there were millions of multicolored glowing specs. They were flying off of all of the roof tops, and gently swirling up into the sky. Joe stepped back, he couldn't believe his eyes. In a few minutes everything was gone. He quickly finished his walk through. He was now back at his post. He checked the recordings still no sign of what he saw. He had so much wanted to find the professor. He wanted to know more, if that was even possible. Joe thought of a hunter friend of his, he realized he was more of a naturist, just hiking mainly, in the woods, not really hunting. As far as Joe knew the fella didn't ever get anything. Which was ironic, since his name was Hunter. He was given the name, since his father was a great hunter, but Hunter, who did possess the great abilities of his father, just seemed to enjoy nature, and all it's wondrous beauty. Even though this being the case, Joe knew Hunter would be a great guide, and a very good friend to be with. So Joe thought maybe the two of them could start where the professor disappeared, and look for him, even if they had to venture deep into the woods. Joe enjoyed his lunch, dessert, and coffee, very much. Especially since Mary had made some of it. Joe kept a keen eye on the monitors, everything was clear. The rest of his shift went well. He did start keeping his own log book, so he could have his own record of the strange findings as well. He was hoping all of this would end, especially without the professor's insight, but he had also hoped he would continue to be ok, if it didn't!

Next Nite

Joe was back at his post, and his boss asked him to come in his office. Joe sat down in his office, and his boss said, he had checked the recording as well, of where Joe viewed the light, and how he felt strange, and also where he fell. The boss also asked if he heard of any new information from the professor. Joe said he would find out, and he returned to his post. Joe was thinking to himself, he was glad others had even held the object he found, and that there was a copy of the video, in which he had experienced the light. Other wise he was very concerned, that everyone at this point may be wondering, the things he was talking about might be a hoax. Even he was questioning to himself what was going on! He just thought, see what happens, and he was very thankful for having the Professor's insight, and that his boss thought very highly of Joe as well. So Joe now was very eager as well to see what might be next. He always paid strict attention at his job, but now, even more so! It was now time for Joe to do a walk through. Even though at this point he was a little reluctant. He was trying to look at everything as an experience. Also maybe even to find out more about these mysterious happenings so far. So Joe put on his hat, and grabbed his flashlight. Out into the cool night air he went. He's smiling to himself, so far, so good, now he was more relaxed. He was paying strict attention to every detail, but he wasn't so tense anymore. The walk through went fine. He only found a gum wrapper. So he came back to his post, and threw it into the trash can beside his desk. He looked at the monitors everything was ok. His cell phone went off, and he answered it. Hello, is this Joe? "Yes", Joe replied. The man on the phone said he was from the university's security office, and that he, and the others were having a hard time to locate the professor. He also explained although they were able to get into the professor's office, since it was unlocked, they weren't able to get into his lab room. Which as far as they were concerned was ok. They knew he wasn't in the room since one of the students thought they saw him out on the edge of the campus greens, by the woods. They wondered what he might be doing out there, but then again they knew, who knows what the professor is ever doing is questionable. Also if his lab room is locked that is a good thing, even as the man on the phone stated, you never know what the professor has going on in there! Joe thought to himself, you don't know the half of it! If the object is in there! Creating the sounds, and light show, and hasn't caught the whole building on fire yet! So Joe told the man, he would let the security office know if he hears of the where abouts of the professor, and the man on the phone told Joe, that he would let Joe know if they locate the professor as well. Joe then hung up the phone, and thought to himself, now what is the professor doing?!, and where has he gone? Joe knew the object was ok, being locked in the room. Although, it would be good to know what the object might be doing now, if anything, as well. Joe looked at the monitors, after he put his phone away. Everything was fine, so he got up, and went into the bathroom. When he came back he was getting ready to sit down, then he noticed he had missed the trash can, when he threw the gum wrapper away, or at least tried to. So he picked up the gum wrapper again, and went to throw it away again when he noticed it had a purple, jelly like substance in it, also now it was on his fingers. Curious of what it might be, if anything, he took out his sandwich, unwrapped the sandwich, and wrapped up the gum wrapper, for that now to be examined. He then went, and washed his hands. When he came back to his post he put away his sandwich, and put the wrapped up wrapper to the side of the monitors he didn't want it anywhere near his food, and he was glad he washed his hands. So Joe sits down, and looks at the monitors, everything looks fine. He also looks at the wrapper, that is where he placed it still. At this point he figures, he doesn't know what to expect. So then he takes out the newspaper, looks at the monitors again, everything is fine, and reads the paper. He stops reading, and looks at the monitors, and then he looks at the clock. He figures to go for a walk through, just before it is lunch time. So he puts the paper away, and checks the monitors. Then he puts his hat on, and grabs his flashlight, then he heads out for his walk through. While on the walk through, it is a very nice night, it is very clear, with lots of stars, he stops where the light was spotted, and where the episode took place. He figured since it was so clear he would take a little look to see if he spotted the light again, and if anything else might happen. He didn't take any chances he looked all around, but he didn't see anything. Also he continued to feel fine. So he finished with his walk through, and went back to his post. He sat down, looked at the monitors, and everything looked fine. So then he unpacked his lunch, took his thermos, and poured a nice hot cup of coffee. He also had a special dessert for his lunch, cherry pie, Mary had recommended it. While he was eating his lunch he looked over to the side of the monitor, which appeared to be smoking. He knew how important the monitors are, and how helpful they are. So he immediately sprang up from his seat to see what was going on! The monitors, and the wires connecting them were fine. What was smoking was the wrapped up wrapper. The plastic wrap he put it in was smoking, and burning away, and he could see all of the purple jelly substance all over. So he put it in some tinfoil he had from his lunch, that the pie was wrapped in. That seem to contain the wrapper, and the purple jelly substance better, and it wasn't smoking as much anymore. He then went out, and put it into a bucket he had in his truck. He didn't want anymore damage to come to his post, especially to the monitors! He then went back to his post, checked the monitors, and what was on the monitors' screens, and everything was fine. So he continued with his lunch, and everything was fine, he especially enjoyed the coffee, and the cherry pie. He was excited about the gum wrapper, but even more excited about going to see Mary, and tell her about how great the coffee, and cherry pie were. Joe finished with his lunch, took another close look at the monitors, and went to the door for some fresh air, then he went back to his post. He called to the security office of the university, but there was no new information about the professor's where abouts, so Joe thanked them, and hung up. After a couple more walk throughs, and checking the monitors, everything went well with the rest of Joe's shift. Then it was time for him to go home.
